Class Descriptions

Gentle Yoga: This class is designed to help students slowly stretch tight muscles and loosen stiff joints. Students will be lead into a variety of gentle yoga postures and stretches with emphasis on alignment, creating stability, and gaining flexibility. This class is great for beginners, people with physical limitations, anyone looking to take it slow and easy or just get a good stretch.

Gentle to Moderate: This is a multi-level class that encourages you to develop your own practice and listen to your body. Gentle and moderate options will be offered allowing you to modify your practice as needed or desired. We encourage and help you to make your practice a personal one, one that's just right for you and your body. The teacher will demonstrate certain poses and offer alignment cues and adjustments to help you develop a healthy yoga practice. No yoga experience necessary. Every class and teacher is a little different, so don't be afraid to try the same class taught by a different teacher.

Energy Flow: Get your energy flowing with this uplifting class that embodies the power of connecting breath with movement and embraces the idea that we have the power to shift our energy, physically, mentally, emotionally, and physiologically. In this class we will use yoga flow (slow continuous movement connected to the breath) to get energy flowing and relieve stiffness in the body. We will alternate this flow with holding poses for a couple of breaths to bring more focus and consciousness to the breath, sensations in the body, and the energy we are experiencing in that moment; to feel the energy flowing through us as we find stillness. Some yoga experience is suggested because there is less cuing for beginners in this class.

Vinyasa Flow:  This class emphasizes sequential movement between postures, coordinated with and guided by the breath. The movements are creatively sequenced from a gradual warm up, to an active flow, cool down and finally to sweet rest. Each class integrates awareness, alignment, balance, and grace in a moving meditation that creates strength, freedom and fluidity in the body and mind. Come go with the flow (at your own pace!). Modifications are offered to meet you wherever you are.

Sweet Dreams Yoga: This unique evening class is a mix of Yin Yoga, Gentle Yoga and Restorative Yoga. Intended to unwind the body slowly with gentle asana, and restorative practices. Grounding through pranayama, movement, aromatherapy and light reiki is included in this class. No yoga experience is required as cuing is heavily used to help guide you through your practice with ease.

Yinsight Yoga: Yinsight Yoga is a deep dive into the tradition of Yin Yoga.

Yin is a slower, more passive practice instead of the active practice you experience with a regular asana flow class.

The longer holds allow us to soften and release into the pose and provide an opportunity for reflective meditation.

Each pose creates mild stress on the fascia, tendons and ligaments to get deeper into our muscles bringing greater hydration and flexibility to those areas.  Stagnation and congestion in the connective tissues creates tension and pain and this practice will aim to release some of this.  Togethere we will regulate our breath, calm our bodies and quiet our minds. Gain a deeper level of insight into your yoga practice by balancing with”yin.” All levels welcome.

Candlelit Bhakti Yoga:

Bhakti Yoga is a practice of pure love and devotion to the Divine Source. We reach to see sacredness in all of our surroundings and in that of ourselves.

Class will consist of exploration into connection with Divinity and the many ways we can delve into this connection. Breath work, prayer, soft and simple Kirtan, mantra, Japa, short readings of sacred yogic texts along with gentle asana (Yoga Postures) are some of the ways we will enjoy our time together.

Come with an open mind and you will open your heart to pure spiritual connection. The ultimate goal of Yoga is to realize what we truly are. Bhakti Yoga is a direct and fulfilling way to discover sacred love which resides within your own heart.

Slow Flow Vinyasa:

Slow Flow with Amy Mullen - An intentionally slow placed vinyasa flow that focuses on holding traditional poses for longer stretches. This 45 minute yin-like practice will aid in increasing your strength in poses while providing deeper release to the muscles and tissues.
