I did not want to learn to do Galavasana (Flying Pigeon Pose) to prove anything or "be" anything. I saw it in a book and thought it was beautiful and wanted to be able to do it. When I was able to do it, I felt connected and centered, I felt strong, I felt free. These are all things that come from a regular yoga practice, whether you end up being able to Galavasana or not.

Weekly Yoga "ism"
Yoga allows me to leave it all on the mat. Any worries, anxieties, fears, insecurities, etc.
I can just leave it all on the mat.
Now, I know some of you might be thinking… but it all comes back. Yes, it does. Sometimes it is only two minutes of “relief”, sometimes it is two days. It is like anything else, if you do it once expecting a quick fix, you are going to be highly disappointed. But, if you “practice” (yoga/meditation) often, the times in between the “yucky” feelings coming back will get longer and longer. And, the next thing you know, they will be gone, or at least greatly diminished. So get on your mat and melt away the yuck! -Light & Love, Amber
